Beyond Maps:
The Outputs

1. Research

A survey was conducted in every participating country to gain a better understanding of the needs of young people.

Find the results here

2. Training in Latvia

Participants earned the basics of orienteering and how it can be practised and taught to others. Knowledge gained from this training flowed into local teachings in output 3.

Also, we created the Beyond Maps Guidelines. The main purpose is to provide practical and also research-based advice on how to organise orienteering activities, so that they help young people to improve physical health, strengthen mental resilience, and also support inclusion in the community.

3. Local Orienteering Competitions

Local orienteering competitions in Greece, Latvia, and Austria.

4. Local Orienteering Workshops

Local orienteering workshops in Greece, Latvia, and Austria for youth workers, coaches, and teachers.

5. Website and Handbook

A website and a Beyond Maps Handbook created to spread the knowledge to a wider audience.
